Your Friend Jesus by Max Lucado
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” John 1:14, NKJV
Jesus was touchable, approachable, reachable . . .
He was the kind of fellow you’d invite to watch the Rams-Giants game at your house. He’d wrestle on the floor with your kids, doze on your couch, and cook steaks on your grill. He’d laugh at your jokes and tell a few of his own. And when you spoke, he’d listen to you as if he had all the time in eternity.
And one thing’s for sure, you’d invite him back.
Daily Prayer for February 27 by prayers.org
Safety
Father, your Word declares that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. We declare that Jesus is Lord over these United Sates of America. We receive your blessing. You are our Refuge and Stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution and desperation). We pray that we shall dwell safely in this land, in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Psalm 33:12; Psalm 9:9
Today’s verse from Heartlight
Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he? Isaiah 2:22
How many times have you been disappointed by someone for whom you voted, been betrayed by a friend, abandoned by a loved one, or let down by a church leader? While we love others and care about them, every other person in our world is just like us -- a flawed human being who breathes the same air and walks the same ground as we do. Only One is worthy of our ultimate trust. He showed his trustworthiness to us by sacrificing what was most precious to him so we could know his love. Let's not put our hope in other mere mortals; only God can safeguard our trust. Let's put our hope in him!
