In Obama's military, religious freedom seems to be enemy number one.The assaults on faith are coming in almost daily waves now, as troops struggle to hold on to the moral tradition that makes our Force great. After disinviting General Boykin from a West Point prayer breakfast and then censoring the Army chaplains' Sunday sermons, the Air Force is making its next move. It seems the branch's Rapid Capabilities Office has decided to scrub the reference to "God" from its long-time logo after threats from the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers. In Latin, the logo had said, "Doing God's Work with Other People's Money." They have since been changed to, "Doing Miracles with Other People's Money."
Like us, Congressman Randy Forbes (R-Va.) was outraged that the Air Force would relent after pressure from such a marginal group. "The Air Force is taking the tone that you can't even use the word 'God,'" he told Fox News. "It's a very dangerous course to take." He and 35 other members rushed a letter of protest to Air Force Secretary Michael Donley and Air Force Chief of Staff General Norton Schwartz and leaned on them to reinstate the logo. "As we are confident that your legal advisors would not suggest that censorship is required for compliance with the First Amendment, we ask that you reverse this perplexing decision... [C]ourts consistently have upheld the constitutionality of our national motto, 'In God We Trust,' despite its obvious mention of God."
If you're sick and tired of the Left bullying the military to accomplish its anti-Christian agenda, sign our petition. Tell Congress to get in the fight and protect religious expression in the Armed Forces!
